Fairy Garden Tutorial
It is easy to make a fairy garden! Just start with that old broken clay pot you found while getting the porch ready for spring. This article will break down how to do it.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Save Your Broken Pot
- Clean the Pot
- Let It Dry
- Break Up One of the Larger Pot Shards
- Fill the Pot With Soil
- Prepare Your Plants
- Arrange Plants and Shards
- Add Steps
- Add Fairies
Step 1: Save Your Broken Pot
Save your broken clay pots and turn all you find into a charming fairy garden.
Step 2: Clean the Pot
Remove the old soil and scrub it clean.
Step 3: Let It Dry
Leave it to dry out thoroughly.
Step 4: Break Up One of the Larger Pot Shards
Use a hammer to break one or two (or more) of the larger pieces into smaller pieces. It will depend on the size of your clay pot and how it is broken.
Step 5: Fill the Pot With Soil
Fill the remaining pot with fresh, clean potting soil.
Step 6: Prepare Your Plants
Get your plants ready to plant. I used succulents.
I also used blue lobelia.
Step 7: Arrange Plants and Shards
Arrange the plants and pieces of the broken clay pot.
Step 8: Add Steps
Don't forget to add some steps.
Step 9: Add Fairies
Now magical beings can climb up to live in your fairy garden.

This is an excellent idea Rebecca. I have a large garden and I have been throwing away lots of pots. After reading your article I thought I would have been better off in using them for something exotic as brought out by you.
